FAQ

I can't connect to my Mac.
Check that Remote Login is enabled on your Mac (System Settings → General → Sharing → Remote Login). Also confirm both devices are on the same network (e.g. via Tailscale) and that your Mac's firewall isn't blocking SSH (port 22).

What are herdr and mosh?
mosh is an SSH alternative that stays connected on unreliable networks. herdr is a session manager that keeps your session alive without you having to think about tmux/screen. Install both on your Mac with brew install mosh herdr. Without them, the App falls back automatically to tmux or your login shell.

My connection keeps dropping.
Your session ends when your Mac goes to sleep. Consider our OctSnap app, which keeps a closed-lid Mac from sleeping.

Where are my hosts and keys stored?
Entirely in the device's iOS Keychain. See the Privacy Policy for details.
